Since many are talking about a possible Maybach competitor, it was the right time to delve deep into the basics of the upcoming BMW 9 series. There are rumours and speculations about the design and details. The journalists are on a spree for products that are targeted exclusively to more premium, more expensive and ultimately more capable machines that automobile manufacturers can offer. Despite the sports cars and the mean machines, the sedans have always been a symbol of luxury.
Taking a stab at the best selling luxury sedans, the Munich, Germany based car manufacturer is allegedly working on a 9 series car. The 9 series for 2020 could be coming as the previous generation has been long dated in the market. If anyone can recall, in the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, it was mentioned that BMW might be working on to produce a 9 series car based on their Vision Future Luxury on 2020. That date is still to come, and journalists are eager to know if anything has been in development? What is the progress? Talking to the brand’s design Chief Adrian van Hooydonk did agree that they wouldn’t just stop there, that is with the 8 series and Z4’s. And, he also mentioned that their team always has more ideas than the company can manufacture at any point in time. This is apparently to keep the gates open to the future.
Better technology, concept electric car designs like the i6 are also said to get into production in 2020. So, there is a lot more to come in the more expensive category. With the market desperately needing a revision of the 2016 9 series news and renders
that combined the sporty looks elegant, slim and toned down front and rears to give rise to the ultimate sedan.
The Dreamliner is supposed to hit the market as the rumors claim, by the end of 2020. It is also alleged that this will be a spun off of the cutting edge architecture of the latest 7 series limo. It is also going to be a four-door and four-seating concept taking immediate cues from their grand coupe, but adding premium features to it in terms of space, design, paint job and more. The grill, wheels, headlamps, front fascia and rear are all going to be a premium, a whole dynasty apart from sporty looks.
It is also known that the 9-series is the first all-new model to be approved by the chairman, Harald Krüger, the person who was unfortunate to collapse during his speech at the 2015 Frankfurt show. Things are in motion with just 2 years to go. It is speculated that the car will be positioned between the Rolls Royce Ghost, and possibly a direct competitor to the Mercedes Maybach S600, upcoming Aston Martin RapidE and even the Continental GT from Bentley.
The market is not that huge amongst the luxury seeking business tycoons, but the competition is quite fierce from what it seems right now. But, for now, let us wait for the new 9 series lineup and more news to come in future.
