The Lamborghini Urus is Lamborghini’s first SUV and it has broken the sales records for the company. The Urus is practical and can be used as a daily driver, unlike the other bulls in the Italian automaker’s portfolio. But that doesn’t mean it is compromised when it comes to performance. The Urus boasts of specs that make it one of the quickest and fastest production SUVs.

The folks at Carwow, however, decided to pit the Urus against the BMW X6M. The latter is an incredible performer and made the Urus sweat. But, was the German able to trump the Urus, or did the latter prevail?

The BMW X6M comes with a 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine under the hood that produces 625 ponies and 553 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The X6M takes 3.8 seconds to sprint to 62 mph from rest. It comes with Launch Control, too, which is pretty slick. The SUV weighs around 5,225 pounds. In the States, the 2021 Urus starts at around $220,000.

The Lamborghini Urus is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged engine that makes 641 horses and 627 pound-feet of twist. Power is sent to all the wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The Urus can sprint to 62 mph from a standstill in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph. It weighs around 4,850 pounds. This example comes with a carbon wrap, 24-inch wheels, and a body kit, too. This SUV starts at $108,600 in the U.S.

On paper, the Urus has an edge over the X6M. But, the results show this was a much closer battle than one would’ve expected it to be. Both the cars completed the quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds, but one of them beat the other by the neck. We won’t spoil the results for you here, but they are straight-line champs.

Post the drag races, the cars faced each other in a couple of rolling races in different settings and manual gearshifts. Here, both won one race apiece. A third rolling race took place to see if the driver’s reaction had to do anything with the X6M’s loss, but that wasn’t to be. Finally, there was the brake test from 70 mph and the Urus beat the X6M by the barest of margins. This Urus should’ve won it comfortably since it features carbon-ceramic brakes. Nevertheless, point goes to Urus.
